Description
Fårikål is a traditional Norwegian dish made with lamb and cabbage, known for its rich flavors and tender meat.
Ingredients

- 1.5 kg fresh lamb, cut into pieces
- 1 large cabbage, cut into wedges
- 2 tbsp whole black peppercorns
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, layer pieces of cabbage at the bottom.
- Add a layer of lamb on top of the cabbage.
- Sprinkle peppercorns generously over the lamb.
- Add another layer of cabbage and lamb, repeating until all ingredients are used.
- Pour cold water into the pot until it nearly covers the ingredients.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 120-180 minutes.
- Check occasionally to ensure it cooks evenly.
Notes
For best results, use fresh, bone-in lamb for richer flavor. Serve with boiled potatoes and a thick sauce from the pot.
